Why Do Streamers Use Twitch Viewer Bots? Is it Legal?

Using Twitch viewer bots is the act of using specialized software to boost your live viewers on Twitch. Those who indulge in this practice either run a view-bot script themselves or rent a view-botting service to do it. These are not real viewers but actually robots that are bumping up viewer count by watching while you are streaming.

One of the reasons why Twitch viewer bots have gained a lot of popularity is because streamers feel that they can sneak their way to exponentially increase their followers and go to the top of the Twitch algorithm. However, this is not possible as Twitch maintains a chronological directory and the top streamers will always maintain their position because they have tens of thousands of real viewers and followers watching them stream at all times.

It is the new streamers who are stuck with 0 to 1 viewers at all times that want to use Twitch viewer bots to artificially inflate their follower strength. If you search from “low to high” of any category on Twitch you will discover that there are hundreds and thousands of streamers having less than 1viewer – hence the urge to use Twitch viewer bots to jack up the numbers in a fake manner.

A word of caution here. Twitch viewer bots go completely against the terms of service of the platform and you might have your privileges suspended or even banned from the platform. This is because those using Twitch viewer bots are maligning the integrity of the channel. Further, Twitch runs ads on their channel and companies pay per view. When bots are used to get fake viewers, the companies are losing out.
